Read Jhumpa Lahiri’s ‘The Lowland’ few days back. Though the novel refused to grab me in the first few pages, later it pulled and latched me inside. It was one of those few books of world literature which speaks about lovelorn and bereft life; and when i say this i was reminded of Elfriede Jelinek’s Piano Teacher. Haunting… Lowland without doubt, left an indelible mark in me. Would soon write about it in detail.
